Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 16 L&D beds, a 6-bed triage area, and an average daily census of 15
• Patient population includes neonates/infants and adults
• Clinical scope includes vaginal deliveries, C-sections, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH), and D&C procedures
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1–2
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Requires 3 weekend shifts per contract
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• Call requirement: 2 call shifts per 6-week period for AM and PM shifts

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• RTO maximum is 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout period: Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all applicable holidays with no RTO permitted; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be available for 2 of them and may request 1 holiday off for review
• Major holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• No scheduling change requests are permitted; the posted night shift is firm
• Local candidates are accepted
• No special schedule requests or alternate shift arrangements will be considered
