Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience, night shift availability, and an SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement: as needed
• On-call requirement: 2 on-call shifts per 6 weeks OR 2 additional shifts per 6 weeks
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required; pending license accepted if obtained before start date
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Must be able to pass an arrhythmia test and medication test on the first day of orientation (one attempt allowed)

• Candidates must pass a Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test and a Moderate Sedation Test on the first day of orientation — travelers receive one attempt
• Fit testing is required on-site; shaving may be required to pass — failure to pass fit testing requirements may affect assignment eligibility
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; RTO requests made after the initial submission will not be considered
• An attendance policy is in effect: missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
