Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU Night position requiring a critical care background with open heart recovery experience and an Indiana or compact RN license.

Details

  • 8-bed Cardiovascular ICU unit in a hospital setting
  • Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3
  • Patient population includes post-surgical management for cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, thoracotomies, TAVRs, and post-complex PCI interventions
  • Procedures include post-open heart care, post-cardiac procedure recovery, central line placements, arterial line placements, and chest tube placements
  • Equipment includes Edwards Monitoring, GE Monitoring, and Swan-Ganz catheters
  • Night shift: 18:45–07:15
  • 13-week assignment

Requirements

  • Active Indiana or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (must be AHA-issued)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Background in critical care or cardiac critical care required
  • Open heart recovery experience required
  • Post-cardiac procedure recovery experience required
  • Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
  • Driver's license copy required for consideration
  • Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provides post-surgical critical care to cardiothoracic, vascular, and cardiac intervention patients
  • COVID vaccination is not required for this position
  • Local candidates are accepted; however, a radius rule applies and may affect the travel pay rate — the radius distance varies by state
