Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position at a Level 1 Trauma academic medical center in North Carolina, requiring BLS, ACLS, and at least 1 year of cardiac cath lab experience.
Details
- Work in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) of a large academic medical center (885 licensed beds) with Level 1 Trauma, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center designations
- Lab consists of 5 ORs with an average daily census of 20–25 patients
- Patient population includes cardiac caths, Impella, Watchman, TAVR, ECMO, clips, and pediatric cases (as young as newborns — PFO, etc.)
- RN responsibilities include circulating, monitoring, and medication administration; scrub experience is a plus but not required
- 8-hour day shifts starting at 7:30 AM, 40 hours per week
- On-call required 1 night per week and every 5th weekend
- Weekend rotation every 5th weekend
- Holiday rotation coverage required on an as-needed basis
- No floating required
- EMR: Epic (experience required), Cupid, and Sensis
- All Siemens x-ray systems used in the department
Requirements
- Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required; 2 years preferred
- Most recent experience must be within the last year
- Epic EMR experience required
- At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- RNs are responsible for medication administration, circulating, and monitoring during procedures; scrub proficiency is a bonus
- Department support includes an Assistant Clinical Manager (RN), 10 physicians, RRT, RT, and an Anesthesia/CRNA team
- Orientation consists of standard medical center orientation plus up to 2 weeks of CCL-specific training
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Parking is free
- A clinical interview with the unit manager is required as part of the selection process
- First-time travelers will be considered, though experienced travelers are preferred
- Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
