Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and vascular ultrasound skills for a night shift contract at a Level 3 Trauma, 241-bed acute care hospital in Shelby, NC.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based ultrasound department at a 241-licensed-bed, Level 3 Trauma facility
• Certified Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
• Common diagnoses include cancer, stroke, COVID, flu, RSV, and heart attack
• May encounter radiology students in the department
• Average patient volume across departments is 250–300 patients per day
• Equipment includes Siemens Sequoia and P2000 ultrasound systems
• EMR: Epic
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (three 12s per week)
• May float between the main hospital and an outpatient advanced imaging clinic as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in ultrasound, with most recent experience within the last year
• Current BLS required
• ARDMS (no specific anatomy certification required) or ARRT required
• Vascular ultrasound experience required
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• License required if applicable
• 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, required for consideration
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Orientation includes approximately 1 day of modules and paperwork, followed by 2 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• RTO is subject to manager approval
• Black scrubs required
• Free onsite parking available
• Former employees who held a permanent position must have been separated from the facility system for at least 1 year before being eligible
