Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Burn ICU (BICU) position in Indianapolis, IN, caring for adult and pediatric burn trauma patients on day shifts.

Details

• Burn ICU unit caring for both adult and pediatric burn trauma patients
• Patient population includes injuries such as flame, scald, electrical, and chemical burns, inhalation injuries, necrotic ischemia, and necrotizing fasciitis throughout the continuum of care
• Primary RN care model with a 1:2 ratio for critical care patients
• 1:1 nursing care support provided for burn trauma code 1 admissions and high acuity and post-operative patients
• Procedures include invasive hemodynamic monitoring (at minimum Q1hr), IV drip titration, nurse-driven burn fluid resuscitation following the Parkland formula, ventilator management, CVVH, Q1hr pulse and flap doppler checks, initial debridement and dressing changes, conscious sedation, surgical recovery, and epidural pump management
• Day shift: 07:00–19:30
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in Indiana or a valid Compact RN license required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — all must be AHA-issued
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (Group A updated yearly; Groups B–F updated every 2 years)
• Experience with burn ICU, surgical ICU, or high-acuity critical care nursing
• Proficiency with invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and CVVH
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
• Full Social Security Number and full date of birth required for consideration

• Provide critical care nursing to adult and pediatric burn trauma patients across the full continuum of care
