Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel Echo Technologist (Echocardiogram Technician) for a 13-week day shift contract in Alexandria, LA, requiring 2+ years of cardiology experience and active ARDMS or CCI certification.

Details

• Cardiology General unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Primarily adult echocardiography with occasional pediatric telemedicine cases
• Caseload of approximately 6–8 echos per day
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (5x8-hour day shifts)
• Rotating weekend coverage every 5th week
• On-call rotation of 1 week every 5th week
• 13-week contract with the possibility of temp-to-perm conversion

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the cardiology field
• Active BLS certification required
• DCS, RCS, or RDMS credential through ARDMS or CCI required
• High school diploma required; graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program preferred
• Experience with stress testing preferred
• License required if applicable
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform routine transthoracic echocardiograms for evaluation of cardiac defects and disease
• Assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
• Perform stress echocardiograms to evaluate for coronary artery disease
• Communicate daily with cardiologists regarding exam interpretation and coordinate supply management
• Adapt assessment and care methods to meet age-specific and developmental needs of patients served
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Copies of all active certifications must be submitted for consideration — expired certifications will result in disqualification
