Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week ICU travel assignment in Louisiana, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float requirement includes all ICUs and may extend to the ED or PACU to care for ICU patients; occasional float to MS/PCU units with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Standard patient ratio is 1:2, which may flex to 1:3
• Epic EMR used; experience is required
• Nurses are responsible for all lab draws, EKGs, and line starts
• Equipment includes: Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA Pumps, Servo I Ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis Machines, Edwards Lifesciences Cardiac Monitors, Medtronic EVD Management Systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE Monitors, Hill-Rom Beds, Pyxis Medication Station, and Veratron Bladder Scanner

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• A supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months is required for consideration
• A copy of a valid Driver's License is required for consideration
• Candidates must be able to care for isolation patients; N95 mask size should be known prior to assignment

Additional Information

• CPI certification can be obtained at the facility for a $100 fee if not already held
• COVID-19 patients may still be present; all nurses are expected to care for isolation patients
• Former permanent employees of any LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered for a travel position
• RTO is limited to 5 days for the duration of the contract
