Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position at a Magnet, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of dedicated CVPICU experience.

Details

Work setting is a Magnet-designated, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center children's hospital with 323 inpatient beds
Unit is the Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU (CVPICU)
Patient population is pediatric cardiovascular, with floating to other critical care units (NICU/PICU) as needed
Patient ratio is 1:2
Charting system is Cerner
Shifts are 3x12-hour days (7:00–19:30) or nights (19:00–7:30), with rotation between day and night shifts every 3–4 weeks
Self-scheduled with no guarantee of straight shifts
Every other weekend required
No on-call required
13-week contract

Requirements

Active DC RN license required prior to start date; pending license accepted with screenshot and application date provided at time of consideration
Current BLS and PALS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of recent, dedicated CVPICU experience required — floating or cross-coverage experience does not qualify
Cardiac training is required; candidates should indicate cardiac training background when applying
Must be able to rotate between day and night shifts

Additional Information

Nurses will float to other critical care units (NICU/PICU) as needed with no age restriction
Every other holiday coverage required
RTO is limited to 1 week maximum; a full week of RTO must be made up at the end of the contract
Scrubs must be any solid color, logo-free, and child-friendly
Rotating shift staff must park offsite; parking is approximately $35/month
A photo ID must be provided upon contract signature if an offer is accepted
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
