Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a PACU position in Olympia Fields, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PACU or ICU experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a 9-bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in a hospital environment
• Patient population includes general, orthopedic, urology, pain management, podiatry, and OB-GYN post-surgical patients
• Patient ratio is typically 1:1, but may be 1:3 when holding patients pending bed availability
• Phillips monitors are used for patient monitoring
• EMR is Epic; Epic training is required before working in the unit
• Schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts per week, 0700–1730
• On-call requirement of 7–8 shifts per 6-week schedule, including weekend shifts (0700–0700), weeknight shifts (2000–0700), and holiday shifts (0700–0700)
• On-call weekend shifts average 1–2 per 6-week schedule
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Active US SSN required; Canadian SIN not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU or ICU experience required
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidate must complete mandatory education modules, hospital orientation, and Epic training prior to first day on the unit
• Small unit environment; team-oriented and dependable candidates are a strong fit
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates living within a 50-mile radius of the facility are eligible but may be considered at a reduced travel pay rate
• Holiday on-call coverage is required as part of the standard 6-week schedule rotation
