Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Renal Unit night shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience with 1 year of recent renal or med/surg tele specialty experience.

Details

36-bed Renal Unit in a hospital setting caring for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease
Patient care includes post-hemodialysis monitoring and ongoing peritoneal dialysis management
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
Collaborative team environment working alongside nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
13-week contract
Every other weekend required
Holiday coverage required
Floating to other units and hospitals required
EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required for consideration)

Requirements

Active AL state RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
No hits (past or current) on nursing license
Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with consideration given to candidates with at least 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license
At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Renal specialty required
Associate degree in nursing (ADN) minimum
NURSYS verification required
Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration
Current driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

Provide specialized nursing care to patients with kidney-related conditions, supporting them from diagnosis through treatment
Virtual orientation provided; competency-based modules completed during orientation — no pre-start HealthStream modules required
A Cardiac Exam will be required upon offer acceptance
Timekeeping system: Centricity
Local candidates are welcome to apply — no radius restrictions
Solid navy scrubs required
