Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Renal Unit (4 South) day shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience including 1 year of recent specialty experience.

Details

• 36-bed inpatient renal unit at an acute care hospital in Tuscaloosa, AL
• Cares for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, including those requiring renal replacement therapy
• Specializes in post-hemodialysis care and ongoing peritoneal dialysis management
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospital facilities required
• EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry or renal specialty experience
• NURSYS license verification required
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

• Supports patients across the full care continuum, from diagnosis through treatment and ongoing management
• Virtual orientation provided; competency-based modules are completed during orientation — no pre-start HealthStream modules required
• A cardiac exam will be required upon offer acceptance
