Description

American Traveler is seeking a night shift RN for a Subintensive Medical/Telemetry Unit position in Northport, AL, requiring a valid AL or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience including 1 year of recent telemetry or med/surg experience.

Details

• Multi-specialty Subintensive Medical Unit (MSU) with a primary focus on medical/surgical and telemetry care, located within a hospital setting
• Medical patient population includes dialysis, telemetry monitoring, and other acute medical needs; surgical patients include orthopedic (fractures, shoulders, backs) and general surgery (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, colon resection)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, supported by a Team Leader who is out of staffing
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as assigned
• Floating to other units and hospitals is required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
• 36-hour work week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license permitted
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered if all experience was under the highest level of professional license
• At least 1 year of recent experience in med/surg or telemetry specialty required
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required at minimum
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• NURSYS verification required
