Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Telemetry position in a Subintensive Medical Unit in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of nursing experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Subintensive Medical Unit (MSU), a multi-specialty MS/Tele unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes medical patients requiring dialysis and telemetry monitoring, as well as surgical patients undergoing orthopedic and general surgery procedures
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6, supported by a Team Leader who is out of the staffing count
• Uses Meditech EMR (experience not required)
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospitals required

Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license currently in hand — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No prior disciplinary hits on license (past or current)
• AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Associate degree in nursing or higher required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in MS/Tele or related specialty
• NURSYS license verification required for consideration
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration
