Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift MS/Telemetry position in a Subintensive Medical Unit (SMU) in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring an active AL or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Subintensive Medical Unit (SMU) in a hospital setting — a multi-specialty unit primarily serving MS/Telemetry patients
• Medical patient population includes dialysis, telemetry monitoring, and other acute medical needs; surgical patients include orthopedic (fractures, shoulders, backs) and general surgery (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, colon resection)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, supported by a Team Leader who is out of staffing
• Unit can accommodate up to 36 patients
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospital campuses required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)

Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted; no hits on license (past or current)
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in MS/Telemetry specialty (candidates with 18 months of total experience may be considered)
• Required documents for consideration: active RN license with NURSYS verification, current driver's license, 2 professional references from within the last year, and skills checklist
