Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Aurora, IL, requiring a valid IL RN license and a minimum of one year of acute care ED experience on night shifts.

• Position is based in a hospital Emergency Department setting
• Night shift schedule: 19:00–07:30
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all from American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• NIHSS certification required
• De-escalation/Behavioral Violence Prevention (DCI/BVP) certification required — can be completed via Relias, Healthcare Staffing Hire, or the free CDC NIOSH resource
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting; ED experience preferred
• Basic arrhythmia interpretation required within 30 days of hire
• ENPC accepted in lieu of PALS
• BSN preferred
• CEN preferred
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for delivering safe patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient clinical condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology
• Expected to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment
• Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting obligations for child and adult abuse
• TNCC required within 12 months of hire for trauma-designated facilities; preferred at non-trauma facilities
• MICN required within 12 months of hire if assigned to a Paramedic Base Station ED
• NRP certification required within 90 days of hire for non-OB facilities
• Completion of emergency pediatric courses 1 and 2 required within 6 months if assigned to an EDAP-certified facility
