Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position in Nashville, TN, with a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience and active TN or compact RN license required.

• Work in a 15-bed Critical Care Unit (CVICU) at a hospital in Nashville, TN
• Primary service lines include cardiothoracic surgery (open heart recovery) and neuro/neurosurgery
• Patient population includes cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, MI, CHF, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, post-cardiopulmonary arrest, and post-ventricular assist device placement, as well as ECMO-level COVID-19 care
• Ages served range from adolescent through late adult (14–60+)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
• Direct patient care staff consists of RNs and Patient Care Techs
• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — TN or compact license required
• Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address (no international addresses)
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Full SSN and full DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides ICU-level care to some of the highest-acuity patients in the Nashville area, including those transferred from across Tennessee and beyond
• ECMO experience is relevant given the unit's history of managing ECMO-level patients
• Local candidates are eligible to apply; however, travel pay rates may be reduced based on proximity to the facility
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required by this facility
