Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position at a Level III trauma facility, requiring strong neuro and cardiac skills with at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• 24-bed Med/Surg unit with telemetry capability on all beds in an acute care hospital setting
• Heavy telemetry focus with an emphasis on neuro and cardiac cases
• Adult patient population — travelers are not assigned pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights (acuity-based)
• 12-hour night shifts
• Float requirement to all Med/Surg units and ICU (for MS overflow patients)
• EMR: Allscripts Sunrise
• Level III trauma facility
• Support staff includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy available in-house 24/7
• No IV team on unit

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
• Strong neuro and cardiac nursing skills required
• Allscripts Sunrise EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Scrubs required in any color except all black; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• 13-week assignment with a 3-shift cancellation allowance
