Description

American Traveler is seeking a Chemo Certified RN for a PCU/Oncology travel position in Ventura County, CA, requiring telemetry experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Work in a PCU/Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population with medical/surgical diagnoses requiring telemetry and chemotherapy
• Average census of 8 patients with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Unit capacity of 8 beds
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Float to Med/Surg required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), TNCC or TCAR, NIH Stroke Scale, and Chemo Certification
• Telemetry experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Oncology nursing experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Experience with central line care and management, PICC line management, and port access
• Experience with blood product administration, PCA, and heparin protocols
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (non-titrating)
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure patients
• Skills in peripheral and central IV line care, feeding tube care, and starting IVs
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and oncology nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Responsibilities include managing patients with renal failure, cardiac and vasoactive drips, PCA, and heparin protocols
