Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring cross-training across multiple OB care areas, Epic EMR proficiency, and a valid SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Works in an LDRP unit at a Baby Friendly designated facility
• Cross-trained to labor and delivery, circulator role, acute care nursery, and OB triage; also cares for GYN surgery patients
• RNs perform their own newborn hearing screenings
• Patient ratios: 1:1 for laboring patients, 1:2 for Cytotec inductions, 1:1 for Mag patients, 1:3 for couplet (mother-baby) care, and 1:1 for sick nursery admissions
• Medication management via Omnicell
• Charting via Epic EMR; minimum 1 year of Epic experience required
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Call and float are both required; floating is limited to units where competencies have been documented

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, Advanced NRP, STABLE, and Lactation certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent L&D experience required; 2 years preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Arrhythmia recognition skills required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Driver's license (DL) required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered depending on years of experience
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from every facility within the health system to be eligible for this position
• Pre-assignment testing and online modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials; modules are completed annually and recorded in transcripts
• Orientation is held every Monday
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience are preferred
