Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Weekend Package position requiring an active Iowa or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.

Details

• Hospital Med/Surg unit setting
• Day shift schedule: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Weekend-focused schedule: primarily Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, working 5 out of every 6 weekends
• On the 6th week, the schedule shifts to Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• Current BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification required within 6 months of hire
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care for Med/Surg patients under limited supervision, including planning, directing, and evaluating total nursing care
• Administers medications and IV solutions, carries out nursing interventions, and maintains accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to communicate patient needs and ensure continuity of care
• Assesses and prioritizes patients' physical, psychological, educational, and discharge needs to develop and modify individualized care plans
• Supports infection control policies and participates in orientation and in-service training
• Works rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
