Description
American Traveler is hiring a Home Health Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of home health experience for a 13-week contract covering the Northern Charlotte metro area, including Huntersville, Cornelius, and Davidson.
Details
- Home health setting serving patients across Northern Charlotte and surrounding communities including Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Morrisville, and Salisbury
- 12-hour day shifts (0800–2000), 36 hours per week
- Caseload of approximately 6 patient visits per day
- Average daily driving distance of approximately 60–80 miles; mileage is reimbursed weekly
- Patient population includes chronic disease, orthopedic/ortho surgery (total hips/knees), falls, weakness, CHF, COPD, and occasional stroke patients
- Primary charting system is HCHB (Homecare Homebase); experience required
- Epic Rover used for view-only access; Focura used for uploading discharge instructions and clinical documents
- No weekend rotation, no on-call, and no major holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Active NC OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance required
- Minimum 1 year of home health OT experience required
- HCHB (Homecare Homebase) experience required
- Epic experience required
- Proficiency in ADL/IADL training, endurance training, adaptive equipment assessment and education, plan of care development, and recognizing signs/symptoms to prevent readmissions
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered if they have solid home health experience
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the work unit; local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
- A manager interview will be conducted as part of the selection process
- 5-day orientation provided
- Support structure includes departmental leadership, a scheduler, clinical manager, clinical supervisor, and peer clinical team
- Grey scrubs are required
- RTO is subject to manager approval
- Team-oriented department culture
