Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position at an oncology-focused hospital, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Located in a Medical ICU (MICU) within a cancer hospital and research center
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with complex oncologic and critical care diagnoses, including oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, GI bleed, neuromuscular disease, drug overdose, pulmonary hypertension, autoimmune disorders, and sepsis
• Common treatments include mechanical ventilation, pulmonary artery catheter placement, CRRT, arterial pressure monitoring, cardiac monitoring, chest tubes, central venous catheters, chemotherapy administration, complex medication regimens, clinical trials, and plasmapheresis
• Many patients have underlying pulmonary and GI conditions requiring bronchoscopy or endoscopy
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• If placed on a day/night rotating contract, shift assignments may include days, nights, or a combination based on staffing needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
• Epic EMR experience is required

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilators required
• IV insertion skills required
• Epic EMR proficiency required

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial profile submission
• No 30-day break between assignments is required when changing representation at this facility (excludes Sterile Processing Techs)
