Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) position requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg and oncology experience, with hematology oncology experience strongly preferred.
Details
- Mixed acuity PCU and Med/Surg BMT unit (14 & 15W)
- Patient population includes a wide range of hematologic malignancies and disorders, including ALL, AML, CLL, CML, Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, Aplastic Anemia, Amyloidosis, and Myeloproliferative Disorders
- Unit performs Autologous, Syngeneic, and Allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T Therapy
- Required skills include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration, central line blood draw, PICC line management, peripheral line care, feeding tube care, and nasal cannula administration
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing priorities and may include days, nights, or a combination of both
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- ONS Chemotherapy Certification and Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential preferred — chemo certification is NOT required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg and oncology nursing experience required
- Hematology oncology (Heme Onc) experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- Care for patients undergoing bone marrow and stem cell transplantation, including autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy
- All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility do not require a 30-day break between assignments to change representation
