Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an IMC Cardiovascular (Telemetry) night shift position in Alexandria, LA, requiring at least 6 months of telemetry experience and current ACLS certification.

Details

• Hospital-based Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiovascular unit — this is not a stepdown unit
• Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 13-week contract with potential for temp-to-perm conversion

Requirements

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
• Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience required
• At least 6 months of telemetry experience required
• US Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Provides patient and family education, identifying needs and available resources
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside
• BSN preferred but not required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
