Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown ICU position at an acute care hospital in Orangeburg, SC, requiring cardiac telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • 286-bed acute care hospital setting
  • Stepdown ICU unit
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45a–7:15p)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required
  • Epic EMR — experience required

Requirements

  • Active SC RN license or Compact license — must be in hand prior to start (candidates with a pending SC license may be considered)
  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years preferred
  • Cardiac telemetry experience required
  • Telemetry competency required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
  • Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
  • Pre-start orientation modules are required to be completed before the first day
  • CPI certification preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Royal Blue scrubs required
  • Free parking on-site
  • Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
