Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at an acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Acute care hospital Med/Surg unit with 39 beds, including 24 Med/Surg telemetry beds
• Patient population includes pacemaker patients, cardiac monitoring, and electrolyte management — no acutely cardiac patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Telemetry experience is not required but is beneficial; basic tele is a plus
• 13-week contract
• Night shift: 3x12s, 7p–7a, with some weekend requirements
• Charting via MEDITECH (experience highly preferred)
• Medication administration via McKesson system
• Travelers are first to float to other Med/Surg units within their scope of practice

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS (ACLS and NIHSS may be obtained during the placement process at no cost if not currently held)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• BSN not required

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• The hospital may call off 1 shift per 4 weeks worked
• Travelers are strongly encouraged to secure housing prior to assignment, as affordable housing in the area can be difficult to find, particularly in the summer months
