Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Oncology (BMT) unit position requiring Chemo Certification and a minimum of one year of Med/Surg and oncology experience.
Details
- Mixed acuity PCU and Med/Surg unit within a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) oncology setting
- Patient population includes diagnoses such as ALL, AML, CLL, CML, Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, Myeloproliferative Disorders, Aplastic Anemia, and Amyloidosis
- Specialized procedures include autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy
- Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts (7:00–19:30 days / 19:00–7:30 nights), 3 days per week
- Shift assignments (days, nights, or a combination) are determined by the department and reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS and ONS Chemotherapy Certification
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification required
- ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg and oncology experience required
- Required skills: telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, Rapid Response Team protocols, feeding tube care and management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral and PICC line management, and nasal cannula administration
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- Care for a complex oncology population undergoing stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapy in a mixed acuity PCU/Med/Surg environment
- All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- No mandatory break between assignments is required when changing representation at this facility (except for Sterile Processing Techs, who require a 30-day break)
