Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Pulmonary) night shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• 36-bed inpatient Pulmonary/Telemetry unit focused on diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of respiratory disorders and lung diseases or injuries
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Floating to other units and hospitals is required
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Charting via Meditech EMR (experience not required)

Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license
• NURSYS verification required
• AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Pulmonary nursing
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Collaborative work environment with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy
• Specialty requires a foundation in general medicine as well as respiratory nursing skills
• Virtual orientation provided upon start; no pre-start HealthStream modules required — competency-based modules are completed during orientation
• Candidates must complete a Cardiac Exam as part of the hiring process
• Timekeeping is managed via Centricity
• Solid navy scrubs required
