Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position requiring at least 1 year of RN experience and AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications, working night shifts at a hospital in Oklahoma.

Details

• Med/Surg unit (3rd/4th Floor) in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes a variety of health conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule
• 36 hours per week, working three 12-hour shifts
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
• Effective verbal, written, and cross-cultural communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, documenting responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments, administering medications, and monitoring IV infusions and blood products
• Collaborates with physicians during patient exams and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• Makes appropriate referrals and delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply for a new contract (extensions are limited to one time, for a total of 26 weeks)
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screening, background check, medical requirements) must be completed promptly after acceptance of an offer
