Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position covering both Adult Medical and Pediatric units, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Adult Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting, working across two units: a 23-bed surgical unit (2N) and a unit with 19 adult beds and 5 pediatric beds (3N)
• Patient population includes adult medical, adult surgical, and pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1, with LPN and CNA support staff assisting with vitals, POC testing, ADLs, and ambulation
• Meditech used for charting; experience preferred
• Equipment used includes telemetry monitors, Philips vital signs monitors, vein viewers, bladder scanner, and POC devices
• 12-hour day shifts
• Floating required between the adult medical and adult surgical units (2N and 3N)

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred but not required
• Two current professional references required for consideration: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include medication administration and scanning, vital signs, head-to-toe assessments, IV management, blood administration, POC testing, and isolation precautions
• Unit-based hands-on orientation with a preceptor is provided
• Availability to work on Memorial Day or Independence Day is required
• Scrub dress code: any color scrubs (no denim), closed-toe and closed-heel shoes, only stud earrings (no other visible piercings), and long hair must be pulled back
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are subject to a local rate
