Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down Unit position requiring Epic EMR proficiency and stable chronic ventilator experience, with night shift scheduling and every-other-weekend availability.
Details
- Step Down Unit in a hospital setting
- Patient ratios are targeted at 1:4, but may be up to 1:5-6
- Experience with stable chronic ventilators required
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- 36- or 48-hour weekly contract options available
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Travelers are first to float at the facility's discretion, within medically appropriate specialty clusters
- Floating may include assignments across multiple campuses within a 15-mile radius of the main campus
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active OH or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- IV start certification preferred
- Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
- Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting the assignment
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to step down patients, including those on stable chronic ventilators
- RTO must be submitted at the time of initial application — no RTO requests will be accepted after an offer is made, and approval is at the manager's discretion
- 13-week contract length
