Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down Unit position requiring Epic EMR proficiency and stable chronic ventilator experience, with night shift scheduling and every-other-weekend availability.

Details

• Step Down Unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratios are targeted at 1:4, but may be up to 1:5-6
• Experience with stable chronic ventilators required
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• 36- or 48-hour weekly contract options available
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Travelers are first to float at the facility's discretion, within medically appropriate specialty clusters
• Floating may include assignments across multiple campuses within a 15-mile radius of the main campus
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• IV start certification preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
• Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting the assignment
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to step down patients, including those on stable chronic ventilators
• RTO must be submitted at the time of initial application — no RTO requests will be accepted after an offer is made, and approval is at the manager's discretion
• 13-week contract length
