Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Respiratory Care Unit position in Florida, requiring a minimum of 3 years of critical care experience with ventilator-dependent patients and active FL or Compact RN license in hand.

Details

• High acuity stepdown ICU setting focused on respiratory care for acute and chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
• Patient-to-nurse ratio is 3:1, with a maximum of 4:1 depending on staffing
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required on an as-needed basis
• Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
• Epic EMR experience required; Cerner experience preferred
• Trauma and neuro patient experience required

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current AHA certifications required and must be in hand: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 3 years of recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
• Trauma and neuro experience required
• Preferred experience includes Charge RN, SICU, MICU, Trauma, Stroke, and Cerner
• Epic EMR experience required
• Degree must be from an accredited school, or from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON) with at least 2 years of consecutive recent acute care experience in a US hospital within the past 24 months
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia (EKG) assessment — pass/fail
• Travel pairs will not be considered

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to respiratory patients with high acuity needs, including ventilator management
• Proof of vaccination status required; declinations are not accepted
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are eligible but are considered at a local rate
• A Basic Arrhythmia assessment is required for this ICU position; a score of 100% in the lethal rhythm section is required to pass
• If the initial arrhythmia assessment is not passed, a re-take dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 24 hours and requires an overall Angoff score of 83% or greater, 100% in the lethal rhythm section, and 83% in all other sections
