Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and proficiency in complex congenital heart defects for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details

Pediatric echocardiography unit within a children's hospital setting
Daily caseload of 4–10 studies per tech
Pediatric patient population with complex congenital heart disease and defects
5x8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with staggered start times between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM
No weekends or holiday coverage required
Floating required between the main children's hospital and a North Charleston clinic location
Epic EMR; experience preferred
GE Vivid 95 and PACS system experience preferred

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer with pediatric echo expertise
ARDMS certification with Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) credential, OR CCI certification with RCCS credential — all certifications must be in hand at time of start
Pending state license accepted for consideration; license required if applicable
BLS (AHA only) required
Proficiency in scanning pediatric echocardiograms and extensive knowledge of complex congenital heart disease and defects
SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

First-time travelers are accepted for this position
Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
Orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
All staff and contractors are assigned to emergency response teams; travelers should be aware that hurricane season runs June through November, with peak activity in August and September
