Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and proficiency in complex congenital heart defects for a 13-week travel assignment.
Details
- Pediatric echocardiography unit within a children's hospital setting
- Daily caseload of 4–10 studies per tech
- Pediatric patient population with complex congenital heart disease and defects
- 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with staggered start times between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM
- No weekends or holiday coverage required
- Floating required between the main children's hospital and a North Charleston clinic location
- Epic EMR; experience preferred
- GE Vivid 95 and PACS system experience preferred
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer with pediatric echo expertise
- ARDMS certification with Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) credential, OR CCI certification with RCCS credential — all certifications must be in hand at time of start
- Pending state license accepted for consideration; license required if applicable
- BLS (AHA only) required
- Proficiency in scanning pediatric echocardiograms and extensive knowledge of complex congenital heart disease and defects
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
- All staff and contractors are assigned to emergency response teams; travelers should be aware that hurricane season runs June through November, with peak activity in August and September
