Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and advanced cardiac skills including CVVHD/CRRT and post-cardiac surgery care.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required, covering both Saturday and Sunday (6 weekends over the 13-week contract)
• Individualized scheduling options available (e.g., blocked scheduling)
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating between all health system campuses is required for all travelers
• Patient population includes MI, CHF, cardiac surgeries, post-cardiac cath, LVAD, Impella, IABP, Arctic Sun, renal failure (CRRT), respiratory failure, sepsis, open heart surgery, AAA repair, vascular surgeries, and ECMO
• Procedures include post-cardiac surgery (direct from OR and non-direct), pre/post cardiac cath intervention, and pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring
• Skills required include CVVHD/CRRT, arterial line management, central line care and management, PICC line management, IV insulin protocols, continuous IV sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Respiratory skills include ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP assistance, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, HFNC, ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, and care of ventilated patients
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• CVVHD/CRRT experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multi-system organ failure required
• Proficiency with arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and IV placement required
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• SICU experience preferred
• Experience with ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump, sheath removal, and TAVI/TAVR preferred
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and chronic/acute renal failure management preferred
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
