Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Resource Pool (Float Pool) position covering all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units at a Level I Trauma academic medical center in West Virginia, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Float pool position covering all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units within an acute care hospital setting
• Units include MedSurg, Stepdown, Trauma & General Surgery, Ortho/Neuro, Neuro Stepdown/EMU, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, and a Long-Term Antibiotic Infusion unit
• Level I Trauma center
• Patient ratios are 1:3 for Stepdown units and 1:6 for Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Each unit contains up to 34 beds
• 12-hour night shifts
• Weekend availability required as needed
• Charting is performed in Epic; experience is required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WV RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required
• Strong clinical competency across Stepdown, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, General Medicine, and Oncology required
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Candidate's driver's license address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference and one peer or additional supervisor reference (e.g., Charge RN)
• Copy of certifications and driver's license required for consideration
• Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before applying
• Travelers who have worked within the WVU system for a cumulative total of one year must take a 2-year break before returning
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though travel experience is preferred
