  • Unit serves adult patients with diagnoses including solid tumors, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology, with a high-acuity PCU focus and a smaller med/surg component

  • Epic EMR environment (academic cancer center)

Requirements

  • Active OH RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications required: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Minimum 2 years of high-acuity PCU experience required
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Required skills include: telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation, central line and PICC line care/management, port access, blood product administration, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), PCA pump management, cardiac drip management (titration and non-titration), heparin protocols, feeding tube care, tracheostomy management, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and IV insertion
  • Preferred skills include: chemotherapy administration and monitoring, arterial line management, IV insulin/insulin drip titration, wound care/wound vac, phlebotomy, surgical drain management, and non-invasive airway management
  • Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Orientation consists of the first week on a Monday–Friday dayshift schedule, followed by a second week of 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
  • Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
  • All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility do not require a 30-day break between assignments to change representation (except Sterile Processing Techs)
