Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency, working nights with every-other-weekend rotation.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
• Common diagnoses include acute/chronic respiratory illness, post-op general surgery and GYN surgery, post-op total knee and hip replacements, orthopedics, acute and chronic pain, active GI bleeding, CHF/pulmonary edema, diabetic hyper/hypoglycemic conditions, renal failure, drug overdose, CIWA-managed patients (score below 7), suicidal ideation, arrhythmia, radioactive therapy, uncontrolled or new-onset seizures, and stable COVID
• IV drips administered on this unit include Heparin and TNA
• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Every-other-weekend rotation required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required between all health system facilities
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Telemetry and Telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients, including telemetry monitoring and IV drip management
• The facility enforces a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• All RNs must pass an EKG exam regardless of specialty — study materials are not provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
