Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a current NY RN license, coronary care experience, and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• Position is located in the SAM-4 Pavilion Med/Surg unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts (7p–7a)
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Floating to Med/Surg and PCU may be required
• 13-week contract
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (or obtained within 3 months of hire)
• Coronary care experience required
• Prior hospital RN experience preferred
• Must have completed at least one successful travel assignment — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Ability to assess and implement safe patient handling, including proper use of lifts
• Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
• 2 references from a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager required — must be from within the past year and within the specialty

Additional Information

• Candidate must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates will not be considered
• Candidate must reside within a 100-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• May be required to assume charge nurse duties
• Must be able to function effectively in high-stress situations and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles required, including clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual patient care needs
