Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Main Operating Room position in Springfield, MO, requiring 2 years of Level 1 or 2 trauma experience and both scrub and circulator skills.

Details

• Main OR setting within a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center
• OR suite includes 22 main beds, 8 ASC beds, and 10 ortho beds
• Patient population ranges from outpatient to critical care inpatient, all age groups
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Equipment includes various surgical instruments and the da Vinci robotic surgical system
• EMR: Epic
• Evening shift, 4x10 schedule, 10:30 AM–9:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• On-call required on any scheduled day, averaging 5 or fewer instances per 8 weeks
• Weekend hours as required by the facility
• Floating required as needed by the facility

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license eligible for Missouri endorsement required at time of consideration
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or 2 trauma experience required; teaching hospital experience may be considered
• Experience as both a scrub and OR circulator required
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

• Performs direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort

• Scrubs are provided by the facility; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
• Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Orientation takes place on day shift; candidates must be available for the full orientation week
• Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up within the assignment
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
