Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and night shift availability.

Details

Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
Patient population consists of general medical/surgical patients (cardiac telemetry patients are no longer accepted on this unit)
Target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, with a maximum of 1:7 during high census or critical staffing
12-hour night shifts, 7:15 PM – 6:45 AM (3x12)
Every other weekend required
Floating to other units required as needed
Self-scheduling model
EMR: Epic (experience required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication

Requirements

Active NC or Compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Required certifications: BLS
Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
IV start and telemetry skills required
Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

13-week contract with the possibility of extension beyond 13 weeks
Unit orientation is 24 hours
Must pass an EKG test prior to start
Scrub colors: Navy and/or White
No RTO (time off requests) permitted after booking — any call-offs or additional time off could result in contract cancellation
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
