Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at an acute care hospital in West Virginia, requiring at least 2 years of experience, telemetry proficiency, and a valid WV or compact RN license.

Details

• 34-bed Medical/Surgical unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Telemetry is present on the unit; tele techs post strips each shift, but RNs must be proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• RNs are required to titrate drips
• Respiratory therapy is in-house 24/7; ventilators are present on the unit
• Charge Nurse and Transport RN are available during day shift (7a–7:30p) at optimal staffing; CNA support of 2–5 CNAs typically available
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7:30a
• Weekend work required (frequency varies)
• Holiday coverage required (frequency varies)
• Floating to other units may be required
• EMR: Epic
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry strip reading and interpretation proficiency required
• Experience titrating drips required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate

Additional Information

• COVID vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions may be requested
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being considered
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year; after reaching that threshold, a 2-year break is required before returning
• Two supervisor and/or peer references required for consideration, including a supervisor reference from any permanent facility worked within the last 12 months
