Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a TJC Stroke-accredited community teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of med/tele experience and cardiac skills.

Details

• 44-bed Medical/Nursing unit in a 174-licensed-bed, non-trauma-designated, TJC Stroke-accredited community teaching hospital
• Cardiac-focused patient population including chest pain, MI, N-STEMI, new onset cardiac arrhythmias, stroke patients, and medical overflow
• RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5; CNA support at 1:8-9
• Manages non-titrating cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin drips, and blood products
• EMR: Epic (experience required); IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell; monitors: Philips
• 12-hour night shifts starting at 7 PM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Floating required within Region 2 (Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and Central Division including CMC Main, CMC Mercy, and Levine Children's Hospital) — do not apply if not agreeable to this requirement
• Centralized telemetry monitoring/tech available 24/7 for all units
• Ancillary support includes phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), and intensivist (24/7 in ICU)
• Charge nurse typically without patient assignment, with additional Team Lead support

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Cardiac skills including telemetry rhythm interpretation required
• Proficiency in general Med/Surg skills: IV starts, drain/tube management, wound care, NGT placement, and central line management
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Must have been separated from any Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility for at least 1 year following permanent employment before applying

• Orientation includes facility-level NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
