Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of MICU experience and Epic proficiency, working night shifts at an academic medical center in Ohio.

Details

• Medical ICU (MICU) in a large academic medical center setting
• Patient population includes complex, critically ill adults with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, renal failure, and COVID
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2
• Specialized procedures include continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia and use of externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients
• Equipment used includes NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV Pump, GE Cardiac Monitor, GE Ventilator, and boom lifts in each patient room
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management required
• Experience with NxStage CRRT preferred

Additional Information

• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred
• Candidates may change representation between assignments without a mandatory break period (exception: Sterile Processing Techs require a 30-day break)
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
