Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma hospital in Boston, MA, with scrub and circulate skills across a wide range of complex surgical specialties including transplants, robotics, and neurosurgery.

Details

• Hospital-based OR setting with 10 operating rooms on the West Main campus, primarily focused on inpatient Level I Trauma surgery
• Surgical specialties include bariatric, neurosurgery, ENT (head & neck), orthopedic trauma, spine, major plastic reconstruction, robotic surgery, kidney and liver transplants, GYN, urology, organ procurement, and trauma
• Day shift, 10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 40 hrs/week
• Up to 2 weekends per month required, either as on-call (7a–7p or 7p–7a on Sat/Sun/holidays) or working shifts
• Short call shift required once per week: 3:00 AM–7:00 AM or 5:00 PM–9:00 PM
• 30-minute on-call response time required
• Floating to East campus or CVI OR may be required
• Holiday coverage is required for any holidays that fall within the contract period
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MA RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Scrub experience highly preferred; ability to both scrub and circulate is strongly valued
• Experience circulating and/or scrubbing general surgery, robotics, transplants (kidney required; liver transplant experience a strong plus), ortho, neuro, spine, ENT, GYN, urology, and trauma
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
• COVID vaccine and booster required (medical exemptions accepted)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions accepted)
• Previous permanent, per diem, or travel employment with any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility within the last 6 months is disqualifying — a minimum 6-month break is required before returning

Additional Information

• Orientation is held weekly, every Monday (excluding holidays)
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application and will require approval
• Parking in the Boston area can be a significant out-of-pocket cost for candidates — please plan accordingly
