Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in Houston, TX, requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of Cath Lab experience.

Details

• Located in the Cardiac Cath Lab (floors 1 and 2, South Tower) of a hospital with an average daily census of 120
• Day shift schedule: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• After-hours and weekend coverage is on-call only (Saturday and Sunday)
• On-call required every other weekend plus one weekday
• Staffing ratio is 3–4 staff per room
• Day shift utilizes a Rad Tech/RN combination staffing model
• Procedures performed include heavy structural heart cases, including clinical trials
• Equipment used includes Siemens, GE, and Philips systems
• EMR system: Merge
• Floating may be required to Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab Pre/Post areas
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in Cardiac Cath Lab
• Structural Heart experience is preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Self-motivated and team-focused candidates are the ideal personality fit
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but strong clinical experience in Cath Lab is emphasized
