Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in Houston, TX, requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of Cath Lab experience.
Details
- Located in the Cardiac Cath Lab (floors 1 and 2, South Tower) of a hospital with an average daily census of 120
- Day shift schedule: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- After-hours and weekend coverage is on-call only (Saturday and Sunday)
- On-call required every other weekend plus one weekday
- Staffing ratio is 3–4 staff per room
- Day shift utilizes a Rad Tech/RN combination staffing model
- Procedures performed include heavy structural heart cases, including clinical trials
- Equipment used includes Siemens, GE, and Philips systems
- EMR system: Merge
- Floating may be required to Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab Pre/Post areas
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in Cardiac Cath Lab
- Structural Heart experience is preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Self-motivated and team-focused candidates are the ideal personality fit
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but strong clinical experience in Cath Lab is emphasized
