Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Intermediate Care position in New York, requiring at least 1 year of telemetry experience and current Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the R4 Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of an acute care hospital setting
• Float team assignment within the unit
• Patient care includes insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV insertions, and post-cardiac cath monitoring
• 12-hour night shifts, scheduled Monday through Sunday
• Minimum of every other weekend required; schedule may be adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
• No block schedules permitted
• Epic EMR used; recent experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required; proof of pending application with applied date will be accepted (note: NY licensing typically takes 6–8 weeks)
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience required
• Epic experience within the past 2 years required — non-negotiable
• Experience with insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV starts, and post-cardiac cath care required
• At least two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required, including one from the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• 16-week assignment with potential extension up to 32 weeks
• Bi-weekly orientations held on Mondays
• Public transportation is not accessible in this area; a personal or rental vehicle with all-season or snow tires (required November–April) is strongly recommended
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Vermont licensure is not required at time of consideration; candidates without VT licensure are accepted
