Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring PICC line management experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• 23-bed Medical Surgical unit within a 562-bed acute care hospital
• Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts with an 18:45 start time
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope is required, including to nearby affiliate hospitals
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charting via Cerner (experience preferred)
• Block scheduling may be accommodated — discuss directly with the manager
• Free parking available with a permit obtained during orientation

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required, or active application in process with an estimated completion date
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required; AHA and Red Cross accepted (RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• PICC line management and IV start experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or fewer is generally accommodated; anything beyond 5 days requires facility approval
• All time off requests should be submitted upfront
• Scrubs may be any solid color
